just a taste

of the happenings in our home this very busy week pre-christmas! it is tradition that the kiddos assemble a gingerbread house every year, though a majority of the candy and frosting are ingested. hey...it's just a gingerbread house, right? hampton repeatedly swiped frosting from the snowy roof that conveniently landed on "her" side of the table. coleman decided that the defective candy may as well be eaten, rather that thrown away! i cannot say that i disagree! what a fun afternoon! the house proudly stands on display. big brother austin ate a few pieces that fell off the roof, and i blamed it on the dog. it is just better that way, sometimes!

bas-ket-ball

so the season begins...basketball. austin was fortunate enough to make the starting five of the top team for seventh grade, and we are oh so proud (considering the 60+ boys who tried out)! what fun it has been to watch both a & b teams play! we have travelled, and been at home (i prefer home). as of yet, the seventh grade andover trojan basketball teams are undefeated! woo hoo! austin is doing well, however, the shouts from the stands (aka "dad") may prove otherwise. it is all about being in "the zone." and it is especially fun to watch austin play there! we look forward to the remainder of the season, though it has put a damper on family meals on game night, and caused late night study sessions! this too shall pass...ever too soon! lovin' it for now!

rah rah rah

hampton and her friend taci were chosen to cheer at andover high school's first varsity home basketball game on friday night. what fun they had! we had shirts made for the event, along with tutus that i tied for a few days! the inital shyness wore off quickly, once the girls became familiar with the cheerleaders! hampton's favorite thing to do was "fly up high!" absolutely adorable! a fun family night was had by all!
